Helmsley Castle, Yorkshire: 12th & 13th August 2017

After the success of our event at Kenilworth Castle in May, and to repay the favour that our friends in Lisles regiment had done by coming to help out again and play our enemy once more, it was time for Newcastle’s to come and do their bit at Lisle’s own event at Helmsley Castle in North Yorkshire and what an excellent weekend it was!

The Siege of Basing House, Hampshire: 15th – 17th April 2017

Last weekend, 3 pikemen, a water carrier and a drummer made their way south to the pretty village of Old Basing to take part in the yearly opening event for Basing House.

Now managed by Hampshire County Council, the ruins of Basing House stand on some of the best Civil War earthworks in the country and, alongside the 17th Century Barn and pretty house gardens, make up and interesting and exciting attraction.

Smaller Events: Basing House, Newark Sconce and The Siege of Sheffield

As well as our bigger events, we’ve been taking part in some of the smaller events that have been happening up and down the country.

These smaller or ‘mini’ musters are a great opportunity to make new friends with other regiments of the society and get involved in even more weekends. They’re good fun and often provide some of the most memorable events in the back catalogue!
