Now you’ve read all about us, why not come and join us for a weekend to see what it’s really like? The best way to really find out what it’s like to do this great hobby is to experience it for yourself!
You can start off by just coming along to one event as a temporary member and then if you’d like to come along again (which we’re sure you will), you can then join up as an annual member for the rest of the season.
‘Try it for a tenner’ or ‘Families for Fifteen’
As an individual, you’ll be eligible for our ‘Try for a Tenner’ scheme. Your first weekend will cost you just £10 in joining fee (this is to cover insurance, facilities etc.) and for that you’ll be provided with all the 17th Century kit you’ll need for the weekend and basic camping facilities (bring your own tent!), not bad for a tenner! All you need to do in advance is fill in the form, pay your £10 and provide us with clothing sizes so we bring the right stuff for you. Kate, our recruitment co-ordinator, will give you all the info you need to get those bits sorted.
‘Families for Fifteen’ is for any couple (you have to live at the same address) or any family (Two adults, no limit on number of children). You’ll get the same as ‘Try it for a Tenner’ for all of you, we have kit for all ages of children so everyone will be able to join in.
All you need to do in advance is fill in the form, pay your £15 and provide us with clothing sizes so we bring the right stuff for you. Kate will give you all the info you need to get those bits sorted.
Of course, if you’re already sure you want to come along more than once, you’re welcome to jump right in as an annual member straight away.
The 2018 annual membership fees are as follows:
- Family – £59.00 (two adults and a maximum of four children. Each additional child is an extra £6)
- Single Parent Family – £39 (one adult and up to four children. Each additional child is an extra £6)
- Individual – £39 (aged 25 or over)
- Young Person – £31 (aged 18-24)
If you’re joining after 1st of July you can get Half-Yearly membership at the following prices:
- Family £41 (two adults and a maximum of four children. Each additional child is an extra £6)
- Single Parent Family £21 (one adult and a maximum of four children. Each additional child is an extra £6)
- Individual £21 (aged 25 or over)
- Young Person £21 (aged 18-24)
There can be a maximum of 2 children who are not directly related to the adults they’re attending with per adult. The cost of unrelated children is £6 each if under 16, or £10 if 16 or 17.
Students can remain on family membership if they are in full time education and provide a scan of their Student card when submitting their membership forms.
Again, we’ll just need a quick form filled in and your fees paid in advance and you’ll be ready to go. If you email our recruitment officer Kate, she’ll be able to give you all the info and forms you need.
If you have been to an event as a temporary member first and then decide to join us for the rest of the season, we’ll knock the amount you’ve paid for your temporary membership off the price of your annual membership fee.
Ok, I’m ready to get in touch
Please be aware that for annual membership we really need to know you’re joining us at least three weeks before the event you want to come along to. This is so we can sort out forms and kit for you!
For temporary membership, a couple of weeks notice is always useful to organise everything but if time is short, we can still sort out a temporary membership up to the day before the event in most cases, so do let us know if you’d like to come along.
To get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org where Kate will provide all the info and forms you need.
If you haven’t already, head to The Present section of our site where you’ll find out all about what a weekend with us is like, what role you could be taking on and answers to some of the questions you may have.
