History Links

Here is a link for more information about Marston Moor on the Battlefields Trust Resource Centre.

Bolling Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Bradford, representing a range of architecture and decoration from the 14th to the 18th Century as new features were added to the existing building over the years..

It also has links with the founder of our Regimente, the Marquess of Newcastle (then an Earl), who famously stayed in the house and reportedly changed his plans for capturing Bradford after a visit and plea from one of the resident ghosts ("Pity poor Bradford").

Newcastle's Regimente of Foote paid our first visit to Bolling Hall in 2010, where we set up camp for a living history camp for a weekend in June. Click here for a review of this excellent weekend.

Other Links

A rather excellent site which gives animations of different marches and formations for Pike and Shotte.

Well worth a visit if you don't know your ranks, files and dignities or if you can't tell the difference between Chorean, Lacedemonian and Macedonian countermarches.

The two Js (John Austin and John Partridge) are members of Newcastles regimente and suppliers of armour and other re-enactment goodies.

Newcastles members: Don't forget to drop in and say hi if you see two Js in traders!

At Bellingdon some years ago, members of the Regimente posed for the artist Graham Turner, who produced the painting “Whitecoats Defiant”. This can be seen on the net at the link on his main page. - Nice job Graham.

Prints of this picture (and other historical subjects) are available for purchase on his site. The original painting is now in possession of a member of the Regimente.

John Beardsworth is a professional photographer closely associated with the regiment and now the media lead within the Sealed Knot.

Visit his excellent web site and look at his photographs of the regiment.
