9 October - Ripple, Worcestershire - Annual March and Service

This is an annual march with the colours through the beautiful village of Ripple, followed by a remembrance service to remember the founder of the Sealed Knot, Brigadier Peter Young and his wife Joan.

3-4 September - Worcester - Large Mini

This weekend will be the culmination of a series of events, commemerating the 360th Anniversary of The Battle of Worcester, sponsored by the Battle of Worcester Society. As well as battles on both days, there will also be a morning march through the city and an evening drum service on the Saturday.

27-29 August - Loseley Park, Surrey - Major Event

The last major Sealed Knot battle of the season, so this should be very well attended - a great chance to see the Knot out in force.

 

13-14 August - Wentworth Castle, Yorkshire - Mini event

.16-17 July - Bolling Hall, Bradford - Living History

Our second year at Bolling Hall and once again a fantastic event! Despite things being a little damp outside, we managed to set up our camp and the skies cleared long enough to put on displays of pike, musket and cannon.

Once again we thank the staff and members of the public for making us very welcome!

.2-3 July - Marston Moor, Yorkshire - Parade and Skirmish

Each year several regimentes march to the memorial which commemorates the royalist soliders that lost their lives during the battle of Marston Moor. This battle was particularly relevant to Newcastles as it was Maston Moor that signalled the end of our regimente - we entered the battle with in excess of 3000 soldiers and, despite a valient last stand, by the end of the battle less than 30 were left alive.

11-12 June - Coleford, Gloucestershire - Large mini event

An event to commemorate the Battle of Coleford on 20th February 1643, when a force of 2000 Royalist troops arrived from Monmouthshire and were attacked by the local Parliamentary militia and townsfolk.

Early June - New Pike Sergeant

A huge Newcastle's congratulation to Andy Marriot, who has been promoted to sergeant within our pike.

29-31 May - Newbury, Berkshire - Major event

The was the second major Sealed Knot event of the season, re-enacting the second battle of Newbury (27 Oct 1644) at the Newbury showgrounds.

22nd January 2011 - Nantwich, Cheshire - March and mini battle

The annual early event for hardened Sealed Knotters - chilly but the battles kept us warm.

As ever, it was a great chance for us to catch up with fellow knotters from around the country followed by relaxing over a beer and a curry in Nantwich.


24th October 2010 - Edgehill, Warwickshire - Annual Parade and Remembrance Service

An annual parade in memory of the first major battle of the English Civil War in 1642.

19th Sept 2010 - Rory and Paddy try out the Knot

Updated 26th Sept with the date of the SK episode

Paddy McGuinness and Rory McGrath return to the TV with a second series chronicling unusual hobbies across the UK - Rory and Paddy's Even Greater British Adventure.

During one of the later episodes you can see Rory and Paddy join in with a Sealed Knot pike push, filmed at our York event during the August bank holiday last year, with Rory donning the white coat of our very own Newcastle's Regiment of Foote.

The first episode of the series is being shown tomorrow (20th Sept) at 9pm on Channel 5. The Sealed Knot episode will be shown on the 4th of October.
