Newcastles
Regimente of Foote appeared to have a rather short but notable existance.
The exact date of their formation is a little cloudy but it was
probably sometime during the spring/summer in 1642.
By mid 1644, however, they had been wiped out defending their ground
at the battle of Marston Moor.
The
following essays/articles, produced over a period of time, break
down their short history into more manageable chunks, and offer
some insight into the short-lived existance of Newcastle's own foote
regimente.
Note:
Some are quite lengthy, but please don't let that put you off, they're
packed with information.
